of the National Parenting Publications GOLD AWARD LuAnn Adams has created and performed thousands of Storytelling Programs for children and adults in Schools (Assemblies & Residencies) Public Libraries, Museums, Zoos, Aquariums, Girl/Boy Scouts, Hospitals, Special Needs Centers, and many other organizations in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Ohio, Kentucky and Idaho. She has received 17 Procter & Gamble Grants from the Cincinnati Playhouse to create and perform a new Storytelling Program ('93-'09) of "Folktales for the 21st Century", inspirational, multi-cultural stories that resonate in the lives of young people coming of age in the 21st Century. LuAnn has performed for the last 15 years at the Cincinnati Playhouse for the Rosenthal Next Generation Series of family concerts. Her education includes a B.A. in Theatre Arts and Child Psychology, (Macalester College), M.F.A. in Acting from the Mason Gross School of the Arts (Rutgers University) where she studied with Ed Stern and Bill Esper. LuAnn also created residencies and performance pieces for C.L.I.M.B. Theatre as a Lead Actor/Educator for children with Special Needs. LuAnn is currently a 'Sole Provider of Services' (Non-Contracted Vendor on Dept. of Ed. Website) for the New York City Board of Ed. (Storytelling Residencies, Professional Development Workshops & Performances, Family Storytelling Nights.) LuAnn is a member of the National Storytellers Network, NY Storytelling Center, Actor's Equity, AFTRA, National Writers Union. |
